As such, the Radiation Therapy program at BCHS will not be available for new students in Fall 2011.

* Radiation Therapy education has been offered by Baptist Memorial Health Care since 1975.
* We offer a bachelor's degree in health sciences (BHS) with a major in Radiation Therapy that is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), the only organization recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) to evaluate and accredit programs in radiation therapy.
* Radiation Therapy students gain clinical experience in leading-edge hospitals and clinics throughout Memphis and the surrounding area.
* Since 2004, an average of 78% of our radiation therapy program graduates successfully passed their certification exam on their first attempt.

High energy radiation beams are focused on the tumor area without permanently damaging surrounding healthy tissues.
